Ok, 2007 Night Train, all stock, getting 44-49 MPG.
A guy here at work has a 2007Standard with the SERT, SE high flow, V&H big radius, and says he's getting 32-35 MPG.
I know the MPG will drop some after the change outs but I didnt expect that much. Is that average MPG with that set up or could his tuning be off? He says his bike runs great, but that just seems low MPG to me.
Ive got a SERT and K&N high flow in the garage waiting for me to get home and Im leaning towards the big radius pipes. Would keeping the stock air cleaner instead of the high flow, after changing the pipes help MPG any? I know the high flow will increase HP but Im more than happy with the power I have now at stock (just upgraded from an XL 1200). I plan on installing the pipes and having it dyno'd when I get back home but Im wondering about the air cleaner now. Im going for sound and MPG, not looking to win any dyno shoot outs. Thanks

I've never run my bike showroom stock, the first time it was ever ridden it already had V&H Big Radius pipes and SE breather and SERT.
It got as high as 51.3 mpg on 100%interstate running @ avg. speed of 80mph. @ 85mph milage dropped to 49.? mpgand one wild hair 5 mile 100mph+ sprint knocked me down to 43.? mpg
I've since had a 103" stage II (255 cams) done and the last tank came in @ 47.6 mpg mixed interstate/open road.
The ones with .? I just don't remember the fractions the other two I had written down.
with my stage 1 i was getting about 45 to 48 mpg(Hwy). then i allso went to a 103 with 650 cams i went to 35 to 40 mixed Hwy and street. but i was expecting a big drop becouse i find it hard to stay out of the gas. but i am sure that if i was easy on the gas i would get better out of it. but it is just hard as all of you guys know. becouse when you know the power is there you allways want to use it hehe
My '07 Heritage gets 48-51 MPG consistantly. I've gotten as much as 56MPG on the Interstate. The worst it's ever gotten was 46MPG. It has the S.E. air cleaner, S.E.II slip on exhaust and the HD Stage 1 re-map.What more could you ask for? I'm totaly satisfied.
I consistantly get in the mid 40's and I ride between 70/90 most of the time
510 ss cams engine stock otherwise hypersharger air cleaner and two into one exhaust..
I guess Im the Low guy as I get 45 mpg Consistantly. It never seems to change no matter how I ride the bike.I fill up with the same trip odometer reading of 135 miles and I always put 3 gals back in. I know I could go further but its my routine. After running out of gas on my Sportster and Street Bob several times Im never going to let that happen again.
