Default to Fatboy or not to Fatboy

Okay,
I have a small dilemma! My local dealer has a 04 Fatboy with only 2500 miles. I currently have a 05 1200 custom that my wife and I ride 2-up. I would like to trade her in () on this Fatboy. The main reason that I am considering this is for the long trips of 2-up riding. Are these bigger bikes more comfortable on the highway than my present scoot? Thanks everybody

!!! RIDE SAFE !!!

I’d have to say not necessarily, I have ridden both and I must say I don’t think you are going to feel much difference in term of comfort, I just like the Fatboy better for other reasons.

There is no comparison, for me anyway. The Fatboy will be more comfortable for you on long trips and it will feel much more stable than the 1200 with two riders. Its wider and has a lower stance for better control. Its not gonna be any faster, but if your looking for ride and stability then the Fatboy is for you. Of course looks awsome! Just my .02

Paula rode on a friend's Heritage on a short ride (about 25 miles) and realized just how much she was suffering on the back of my '04 Sporty. That's why I now have a Heritage.

I don't ride on the back, she does. In her most un-humble opinion, the Heritage is a LOT more comfortable to ride on. Not just a smotther ride, but the extra passenger space as well.

IMHO… I would also say that there is no comparison. My wife owned a 05 1200 Custom for a short while (she jumped it into a ditch). Comparing that to the Fatboy she now rides is like night and day. The ride, everything is different. I would definitely say go for the Fatboy you will be pleased and so will your wife.

Yes get the fatty- mine is only 2 months old but I love it and it is comfy for long distances. My backside gets a bit numb after about 120 miles but that is fuel stop anyway and can easily be cured by a better seat.

You will love the solid feeling of a Fatboy.

I think you'll find the fatboy will feel more balanced especially when riding two-up.

just don't let your wife have a ride on the back of a dyna or e-glide or you'll be trading again. lol

IMHO you won't notice much difference between the softail and sporty for 2 up riding. (especially if you're comparing with a touring seat on both) You'll get that same familiar buzz of the solid mounted motor as you have on the sporty at highway speed.

This isn't a softail flame (my current ride is a softail) , just my opinion.
