Over the years I have come to think of new Harley models as a blank canvas frame. It takes time for the aftermarket and customizers to get thier hands on it and make it right. No, I don't like the seat on the Rocker, but I did't care for the stock seat on the Deuce either (Changed it aftermarket Mustang seat), etc, etc, etc. My point is: Give it time....
airheads not a fair comparison - lot of xtras on that Rocker. Compare it to Cajun Canucks Deuce...
Crazy Canuck has a sweet looking ride - but I think it's safe to say there are a lot of xtras on that Deuce. So I think it is a fair comparison - both the pic above and Crazy Canucks ride have lots of extras. Both look good to me.
HD really dropped the ball with that bike.
R&Dhad a chance to unveil a new model, with some real potential, and they chose the cheap way out.
It looks like a bikedeveloped from a crate full of old Deuce parts they had in the corner, and slapped together in one day.
What a joke.
I agree completely. They should have went with the Harley look but put in the Vrod powertrain in it. Probably would have picked up more of the market. You'd have the performance buyers interested as in the type that like the latest technology but don't necessary like the look of the Vrod. Could have been a good market feeler for Harleys next generation of liquid cooled models. But then again , what do I know, I'm just a welder. One thing I'm sure of is that I would never but the Rocker. It lacks in most areas that my fxstc already has. Ron
A big +1 !!
That is a great point about the V-Rod engine to be used here. It would have seeked out the market for liquid cooled power plants (and we all know that's coming),not to mention having a kick butt performance machine in a more traditional chassis! YYyyyeeeee Hhhaaaa!! sign me up!
I just checked it out for the first time and I'm even more happy with my Deuce now. I agree that it felt more like I was sitting "on" the bike than "in" the bike. A couple of the things I liked in pictures but didn't like at all in person. The bars really looked like they're off a Yamaha, and the oil tank, which I thought was great in the pics, really looked like warmed over puke in person.
I saw it Friday and I like it! The riding position is very comfortable for the pilot, but the pillion seat is gnarly. If it was mine, I would have someone make me a custom seat pan to get rid of the dead space between the fender and the seat to be more like a traditional chopper.
I wonder if MOCO knows that Choppers are dead? I guess by the time they figure out that Baggers are IT and CVO offers a SE FLHX or another SE FLTR...it'll be over?!
I saw one at my dealer, it has some good qualities but for the most part it's pretty ugly. My vote for ugliest Harley would be the Fat Bob though. But I'm not spending my money on either so I have no complaints : )
