Yep, Rush makes some good stuff, you can decide how nasty ya wanna sound.
Supertrapp is the ultimate in being able to tune a pipe with their diffuser disc system.
LOL, don't look at MY bike, I got those Kerker pipes from my bro fer free, so that made MY decision easy!
Nice quality, a lil' loud, but not obnoxious...
Dude, you need to get a high flow A/C and a retune before you burn you engine up
I would wait until you can afford a new system.
Yeah, slip-ons will give you a little more sound, but you are not getting the look and style of an aftermarket system. You'll still look stock.
Shop eBay, you might find a nice set of pipes at a decent price.
I juststumbled across JUST what I was looking for at a great deal on eBay. Rinehart Cross-Backs, brand new in the box, shipped to my door for $525.00. They are $895.00 pipes..
You just can't duplicate the sound of Rineharts.
I put on Rinehart slip-ons last week. Great Rumble, plenty of volume (2" baffle).$349.00 (M&M Cycles) Very happy with them. Using a Fuel pack and K&N RK3909 Highflow kit. Everything worked great right out of the box.
I guess I’m in the minority because I don’t care for the sound of V&H. To me they make the bike sound like a drag bike. In all the post I’ve read I never heard anyone describe the sound you get with V&H as “deep rumbleâ€. I get the deep rumble with Rush which is what I was after. Cost wasn’t a factor in my decision, only sound. I agree the complete system does look better, but when I’m cruising down the road I can only hear the rumble, I can’t see the pipes. And it’s the rumble that really gets my adrenalin going! On the flip side I have read posts that say the new Q-series has a deeper sound but I haven’t heard them on a bike yet.
When I bought my '07 Heritage Classic I asked the dealer about punching-out the baffles. He didn't recommend it, said they sound like they're under water (I've since heard what he means). He sold me a set of Khrome Werks slip-ons that they had in stock. I paid less than $250. They bolted on ina matter of minutes, look great and sound even better. They have a nice hearty rumble at idle, are moderately loud on take-off and a produce deep, trance-inducing rumbledown the interstate. However, they can border on obnoxiously loud if you really get on 'em. I have a friend who bought a preowned softail standardthat came with Reinharts and they are obnoxiously loud ... the kind ofloud that give Harley's a bad name.
