Default Advise on Removing Tank Bib

Have a question on removing the leather tank bib on the deluxe. I see the screws on the end under the seat. How do you remove the end under the dash ? Want to put a chrome dash extention on. Also how does the extention attach under the dash ?

I don't know if the crome extension goes under the dash or not, but i'm sure it does... I replaced my plastic bib on my 03 heritage with a leather one and all I had to do was take out the screw under the seat and loosen the nut by the speedo and slip it out. Be careful when you tighten the nut back up as to not over tighten it and crack your dash! Chuck at ChicagoHD gave me this advice and I thank him for that since I am one of those guys that would do such a thing. Very simple...

On my '08 Night Train all I did was remove the screw under the seat then take the bolt off the speedo. The top part of the bib wasn't screwed down or anything. It took maybe a minute to swap out the stock bib to a leather one.

Dude use the hammer and chisel. Gives the bike that personal touch. Like everybody else said just loosen the speedo nut. If you take it off completely be carefull not to loose the washers, 1 flat and 1 split ring. Don't ask me how I know.

When I swapped my leather dash for a chrome oneI had a problem with the chrome one moving from the vibration no matter how tight I made the speedo nut and it chipped the paint on my tank. I went to Home Depot and bought a thin strip of velcro and put it on each side of the tank and dash and that solved the problem might want to try that before damaging the paint just my advise
