07? I don't think I would arm the system because the movement during thetravel would probably cause the battery to drain. Perhaps if you don't already have one.....buy a disc lock. You're talking about probably a 8 to 10 hr drive, and you'll still be in the same time zone.
Sounds likesome "Hard-Cores" and"trailer-fobes" need clarifications; My bike arms itself when I walk away from it, any movement triggers the security system, lights start flashing and the bikes disabled. I'm sure most of the 07's come this way; maybe it was an option?A wireless fob enables the bike when you get near it and disables it when walking away from it, you don't push any buttons to do this. Yes, I'm trailing my bike along with the contents ofmy 3400 sf home in So. Cal., Trucking it 750 miles on aU-haul; about 12 hours of straight driving. How hardcore it that! I have driven my bike this route severaltimes before, not this time around tho.

Don't know if you overlooked my post, just fasten you fob to the frame while on the trailer. I have done it this way a few times so you don't have to worry about the battery...
In your manual, as stated above, you can disable the motion sensor and keep the ignition locked. There's a way to do it in the nual, step by step, and it isn't hard. That way, if someone does get the bike off the trailer, they don't have the fob, and can't start it.
Hi Commander,
I finally got out my small owners manual.
I can't believe it, I bought the '03 new and never read past the arm and dearm with the fob button. But after finally reading it closely, I can also set it up for the auto-arming feature.
Now, leaving the FOBwith the bike for servicing orwhile in the trailer or winter storage makes perfect sense. I also have the pager with a siren and that works good from the room while I'm on the road. I have gotton on my bike a couple of times without deactivating the alarm and the lights would flash. I didn't have the siren hooked up yet and most the time I forget to even set it.
Thanks for taking the time to notice that I was missing the boat on the conversation and even more time to bring me up to speed. You know that saying, "You can give a man a fish and he can eat a meal or you can teach a man ti fish and he can feed himself for life."You got that through my thick skull. And I say Thanks.

Actually I think you can auto arm the system. I helped a friend program his '03 RK to do it. Check your manual.

Hi Commander,
Wow, just goes to show how fast the HD technology is going.
My bike is an '03 and it doesn't have auto armsecurity.
I didn't even know they had that feature now.
Mine requires me to make the choice to arm.
I guess I better wake up. lol

Chappy,
I think he is saying his bike is set to auto arm the security.
That is good information about bypassing the security. I just bought a trailer and both my wife's bike and my bike are set to auto arm. I did not even think about by passing it.
I hope your trip was a success and no problemsI lived in San Dieago for several months. While I was there my plans changed and I headed to the northeast. Myself, I like to traval andI always tried to nothave deep roots. But a lot can change since the late 60's and now I have 4 grandsons and even some roots snuck into the mix of life. Take it as it comes.
good luck to you in all your new endeavors.
We made it safely with no serious issues, I left the fob in the saddlebags and still had a dead battery after the end of the trip, who knows maybe my battery was dead to start with. Sold the trailer this week, looking forward to do some exploring in my new home state.
