When I bought my 2008 Heritage in May, the dealer told me that i shouldn't be shifting into 6th gear until 65 or 70. \\; I actually feel like I could do so at 50-55. \\; The manual says 55. \\; was interested in your experiences re this.
 \\;
 \\;I shift mine at 60to 6th gear, \\;but it sounds like it lugs a little. I was told the same thing you were by my dealer. My U/C runs better at 2500rpm, which is 55mph in 5th gear, so where the limit is 55 I stay in 5th gear. I like to run my rpm's at 2500 to 3500, every thing runs and sounds good there.

If your bike is "stock" I mean no a/c change no
exhaust change and no ecm remap or mod, then
55 is probably too low unless you are on flat ground
 \\;and are not attemptig a pass. As you make changes
to your induction and or exhaust plus ecm, you will find
 \\;that you can in fact use 6th @ a lower speed.
