I'm torn as to whether to get the HD Rider's essential kit for my 08 Fatboy or get the detatchable backrest and windshield separately. \\;I'm not 100% keen on the windshield that comes with the Rider's essential kit and the belt buckle is of no interest.
Any suggestions?? \\;
IMHO, the Rider's Essentials kit is not worth the money. I myself am glad to have the windshield, which is detachable, for those times I'm riding on the freeways here... too much sand, gravel, rocks and debris on the roads not to have one here. Also, amazing how much wind it blocks at freeway speeds. On shorter runs I leave it off, so it is great to have the option.

If you do much riding, you'll find the rack and sissy bar very convenient. Again, mine are removable so I can take them off when I don't need them, but the wife appreciates the sissy bar when we ride two-up. They also are useful for tying items down when doing light shopping, and for long trips a t-bag on the sissy bar is essential.

buy seperately is my suggestion, buy what you want, when you need it.. not 4 things bundled together that you might not even use..
comes with a t/s relocation kit.. u might opt to use a different system.. dont like the upright for the passenger pad? too bad if u buy the kit
