You can check out the 2009 Fat Boy with the 360 degree function on the HD site. I think it looks strange with the black pieces on the left side and chrome on the right side. I think they should have gone all the way or left it alone.
Tom
I think that is reason for the price difference. Now they'll get ya for a new chrome piece and labor at the dealer! Puts more money in the dealers till.
Black on one side, chrome on the other. Covers all bases. 2010 will have a blacked out pipe side with a chromed out left side. Covers all bases again. Then 2009 meets 2010 and the two can have offspring, one black and one chrome. What the hell was MOCO thinking? To me the new Fatboys look bad. To pay that much money and have a bike black on one side and chrome on the other is a pure brain fart on the companies part...IMHO.
And to add insult to injury they offer a chrome wheel option. They should have offered a chrome right side wheel and a black left side wheel to match the rest of the nightmare they created.
Called Rush to order a black pair of slip-ons..... Not available. Probably sold out in a week.
Ordered a chrome pair instead. .......... Maybe I'll get that black gauze stuff and wrap the whole damn pipe. ......... hmmm, that'll probably look good.
Oh, and I may go real nuts and buy a black inlay for the football thing.  \\; \\; Lets see, black stuff for pipes....... 15 bucks. Inlay for cover.... 30 bucks. That should keep it under my $50 budget. \\;
