My wife has an '07 Deluxe and would like to get the grips a little further back and in. Has anyone put mini apes on a Deluxe? If you did, were you able to change the bars without changing the cabling?
Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I've known people who put mini apes on fatboys, which for all intents and purposes are identical to a deluxe as far as seating position relative to the bars is concerned, and yes, they had to change all the cables and brake line, plus extend the wiring.
On my fatboy, I wanted to move the grips slightly higher and back, so I put on a set of bars which were, as far as I can see, identical to the stockers except for about 2-3/4" more rise. Cabling and wiring were no problem, but the brake line is about at it's limit. Believe it or not, even that small difference in height made a world of difference in the comfort level.
