Hey guy's I just bought some Wild One chubby RK bars, I was just curious if you've changed youre bars what kind are you running? I'm going to try and put them on tonight but their predrilled so I have to take the tank off and everything else so I don't know if I'll be able to get them done tonight. I'll post pic's when I'm done.
I switched over to the Heritage/Fatboy top clamp and risers (1.5"), and the White Bros. Bikini Beach Bars (drilled). While at it, I also switched to the HD Diamondback braided clutch and brake cables, and internally routed the control cables. Note that the new beach bars are longer than the stock bars, but the new risers are shorter than the stock risers...thus compensating for the need to extend the wiring loom. With this configuration, the lenght of stock wiring loom is pretty much maxed out (no more excess).
Since this pic, I also changed the grips and the HD chrome control/switch housing, which makes it look even cleaner.
Hey Old Skool, I actually already have the shorty risers too. I drilled my stock bars and ran the wires through them. My problem is with the shorty risers I'm having to bend forward a little bit and it's not really comfortable. The bend on the stocks is designed for the pullbacks as you know. At the dealer they had a Heritage with the same bars I bought and it was really comfortable, and it looked good. Thanks for the reply and your bike looks great. I'm going to be getting some new pipes for mine soon, It should really make it look different. I like the Longshots but I've seen alot of bikes around here with them and I want mine to look different. Ride Safe!
SoCal - The pipes are the Harley true-duals that are made for the Heritage and Springer Classic. They barely fit the Deluxe (mounting brackets had to be bent, and the part of the shields on the left side contact the ignition coil cover...but no harm).
TS - Yeah, this set-up is not as comfortable as the stock riser/bars...I did it for the looks more than anything else. I'd say about after two hours of riding, my shoulders and traps get tired as I too have to lean a tad forward. I compensate for keeping my lower back pushed forward and straighten my posture...so I guess that's a good motivator after all.
Looks like you have the Longshots on already (?). BTW - those blacked out fork legs are bad *** looking - nice choice
I'm going with Wild One Chubby 10" Mini Apes with 3" chubby risers. Should be here in a little while. They are going to have to sit in the garage for a while until I get the other stuff for the bars (chrome levers, covers, master cylinder, braided cables, and lines) A couple of buddys of mine have the same set up on their bikes and the look is exactally what I am after. At 6'3", it is the perfect arm position for me. Right now I feel very cramped with the stock bars
