I put a rag over the fender and run the strap between the fender and leg of the fork. That way, I'm not compressing the fork which is tough on the seals. Also the straps won't loosen themselves from the up and down movement of the front end while you trailer. I've also trailered with the strap around the neck to the floor with no problems. Around the handle bars would be a bad idea.

Anything but Uhaul. I had a horrible experience with them and will never use them again...ever!!! If you value your bike use someone else for the trailer. Chances are your bike will fall off the POS Uhaul trailer. Kind of like my van almost fell of the one I used a few years ago.

Wife and I are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon next summer, so I need to find a trailer to haul them out from PA (no way I can ride 4,000+ miles round trip). I hate to buy one just for one trip, and around here UHaul is about the only place you can rent one.
