Default Wheels or Big Bore Kit?

As some of you guys may know i have been gathering info. on an engine build (95" kit, cams, etc.) My wife is wanting to buy me a gift b/c i got a promotion at work. Now I am stumped on either the Big Bore Kit or a set of the Mammoth 52 Spoke wheels. If I go with the big bore kit, I will wait on install for a while until I get the cams I want (gear drive) and some other parts. The wheels I am looking at are the 18" diameter, and I will get a new set of avons or metzlers to go with'em. I know it's my choice, but wanted some opinions.

Funny. I am debating the same thing right now. A big bore kit or wheels.

I got one question for you.... do you wanna be going down the road and occassionally look at your wheels or would you rather roll on the throttle anytime and everytime and get a smile on your face? I was considering either a new paint job this summer or doing a 95 build, needless to say, horsepower/ torque was more important....

Either way you can't go wrong, but I am more of a performance type of guy...

Congrat on the promo..... and having a great wife!!!

I'd do the performance work too. The wheels will wait for you. It's also possible your taste in wheel may change by the time you do them but the engine work won't. I was ready to get the same wheels but a discussion here made me relook at the performance of my bike. I'm holding off on the wheels. I'm changing my cams, primary gears and going to a 6 speed tranny.

I like the wheels you have now. Always have been a wire spoke fan. Not into real go fast bikes any more either. Guess my opinion is pretty worthless!

new wheels.

performance is very important but I think you'll smile a lot more if you look at your bike and you see new wheels on it.

I say you should get a 21 for the front with fat spokes and an 18 for the rear. More power is not necessary.

Will a 21" bolt up without modification?
