I bought a 07 FLTR and have had it for over a year now. I really like riding the bike and all the features it has. When I purchased the FLTR, I thought my wife would ride more, but that it not the case and I only do a few 500mile plus rides a year solo. So I am considering buying a new FXSTC. I really like to looks of the FXSTC and since most of my riding is not over 200miles and solo, it seems like it might be a good fit. Has any one been in the same situation?
I have a 2006 standard( virtually the same bike) as the custom. I too thought that my wife would ride more often -- but that hasn't been the case. My rides are shorter in length as you suggest yours will be and solo, I found the bike is perfect for that. I have no regrets
.... you are probably going to get a lot of agreement on the wife riding on the back....
same issue here...now I have an XB and she wants to know when I am going to put on a seat for her.... LOL
Personally I love the Road Glide... and If I had the money to buy another... that's probably what i would get!
I think that if your just going to "Cruise" around a softail is a good choice....
Love the look and the ride of mine. It's got the 70's chopper look I love and grew up seeing with my Dad's bikes right-out-of-the-box. Ridgid looking frame with a really soft ride, "king and queen" seats with sissybar, raked out front forks, mini ape hangers, 200 rear tire with solid rim, narrow spoked front rim, very clean lines with lots-o-chrome. Fit's me perfect. It's comfortable and big enough for the fiance and I, that I can throw some bags and a windshield on it and go on trips like a tourer. She even said the rear seat is rather comfortable. Yet it's nimble enough to leave the stuff off and ride it dailey cruising around town. I'm going to have this bike a long time.
