Default Fatboy Stock Handlebars

I bought my 02 FB a few weeks ago and after picking it up I noticed that the handlebars were not parallel with the triple tree (i.e., not perpendicular to the front to back line of the bike). They were oriented so that the left side was a little forward of the right side (not significant, but annoying once you are aware of it). In the space between the forks, it's off almost a 1/4 inch. I turned around and went back to the dealer immediately and asked him to straighten them. It took about 10-15 minutes. After another week of riding, the bars were crooked again. Took it back and they said they would have to order bushings for where the risers mount through the triple tree. Went back the next week and had them do the bushing change. When they were finished, still crooked. The mechanic's answer when I asked him was that "they're always going to be off a little". I didn't believe him but when I checked out some new and used FB's all the bars were off just like mine. Would the FB owners out there look at their bars and see if they run parallel with the triple tree. Personally, I can't believe that HD would make the bike so that the bar wouldn't be right on. If they can't get that right, what else is wrong that is more critical and you can't see. For the price you pay for these bikes, this should not be an issue. Am I being too picky here?

Yeh, I'm going to take it back to the other HD dealer in town. The two dealers are both owned by the same person and the one that didn't do the straigtening said that if the other dealer can't fix it right bring it back to us. So, I still have an options and am not giving up on this. I just can't believe that with every FB I looked at they were all crooked and in the same direction as mine and about the same amount off.

I have an '05 Fatboy and don't "see" the problem you described.

Put some pictures up so we can get a better idea of how it looks.

My '05 is straight. Gotta be straight. Nothing else will do. Bring 'er back in as many times as it takes. Someone has to fix that.

Drop the bike off at the dealer yesterday to put it on the dyno and check if everything is OK with the way the bike is set up. They will also work on the handlebars. This was the dealer that said to bring it back to him if the other dealer couldn't fix it. We'll see.
