i wouldn't get exhuast like that unless you really like the blued look because that exhuast isn't going to have a heat shield and will blue very quickly
yea im starting to wish i had never bought it. if only i could take it back and get half my down payment back i would be happy. but i have put 700 miles on it.
sorry to hear that.
I almost bought a rocker but with the deal i got on the fatboy and having something that has been out for a while i new i could get lots of options for add ons. Ride some more you will love it. I have 31000 miles in less than 1.5 years.
well i loved when i first saw it but now after having it a while and finding all the things i want to change. i just feel i should have payed cash for an older softail an then done the mods i would have came out cheaper. like the wheels i liked them at first but now i dont. the dash i didnt like from the start i like a smooth gas tank. i dont like sitting up straight so i need new bars. i cant find pipes i like. by the time im done making it the way i want it i could have built a custom bike. and last night trying to leave the harley shop the key fob didnt work for the alarm and bike wouldnt start.
It takes time to figure out what you want and like, theres is still plenty I want to do to my rocker but just dont have the cash for. One thing I have learnd thus far is search the internet for the parts you like then call the maufacture to insure the parts will fit like you want them to, they may be willing to make mods or adjust the part to fit the rocker. One the forums we have found that there are currently three Martin Bros pipes that will fit the rocker Dasiycutters, Shockwaves, and Madusas.
There are five problems with the Santee L.A.F. pipes:
No Baffles, no back pressure possible damage to engine
No heatshields, blueing of pipes (as mentioned by Rocker00)
Difficult to tune, not efficient and poor ride
No O2 sensors (as mentioned by OleSchool54) and would need to bypass them with a fuel management system, and
For show use only due to short length
You may want to check out Martin Brothers as they have a variety of pipes that would come close to the look you are seeking.
As far as buying a scooter and then seeing things you dislike or would like to change, I believe it would happen with almost any bike. I have had many scooters since I was 15 and ended up making changes to all of them. Hey, that's the fun part!
