Bike cuts out

My 2000 softail will quit running for 1 or 2 seconds then refires with a loud back fire. This is an intermitent problem. Any ideas?

It has a carb with 180 and 45 jets.

had the same thing a couple years ago. connections at the ignition module. pull both harness/cilps, spray with contact cleaner, reinstall. even though they are snapped in they have a tendancy to "loose connection". i believe there was a technical service bulletin on this problem. if i remember, it was the black connector. but do both while your there. hope this is it.
