New 2-1 Fat Cat coming Friday

Bike is still stock. I was planning on waiting until the 1K checkup before making any changes. Can I install the exhaust without doing anything else? My plan right now is to do the stage 1 A/C along with PCV after the checkup. My concern is with the bike still running a bit lean it might cause the pipes to discolor. I'm like a kid in a candy store, just not sure I can wait.

I don't know about the pipes you are looking at. I think many pipes have a heat shield which hides any discoloration. My last two V&H pipes did.

By the way, I definitely understand the candy store. I've been putting on a lot of weight lately and have no intention of going on a diet.

The stock ECU will adjust.... you will still be EPA lean....

fat cat has a nice heatshield set-up. nice choice. you''ll like them. will work well with ANY bulid.

I really like mine. I did all the motor work and tuning at once so I don't know how it will react by just bolting it on. Should be OK. The best would be to finish the stage 1 and get a dyno tune. That was the first thing I did w/Rush slip-ons before the engine build, bike ran great.

Your bike as delivered runs too lean. Adding a 2-1 exhaust, which will scavenge far more efficiently than your stock exhaust, will make it run leaner. If you have all the parts, there's no reason to wait until after the service. My stage 1 was done before delivery.
