Advice for 95 inch engine upgrades
If you did you would be wholly aware of the ring end gap issues with some of these dealer built cookie cutter 95"s and 103"s slapped together from some MMI kid with peach fuzz on his lip and a service manual in his back pocket.
I dont recall ever bragging about making some huge power or compression gain via insuring the ring end gap was correct.
You began by questioning the comment I made which was "Hand matched rings". Now I dunno about you I would say a correctly built motor would have the ring end gap fairly high on the priority list.
Oh yeah you must think so as well or you wouldnt have bought that "Expensive" Electric filer to insure perfection on every build?
I'm done with you Bro and have nada to gain or learn from any future exchanges with you Sir. Zilch.
Best of luck Gunny.
To me? You arent even here anymore Dude.
Thanks.
Your a pretty touchy guy aren't you?
Taking all those comments on such a serious level. Must think Im personally attacking you.
But yes I do think correctly gapped rings are of the utmost important, and your right, thats why I invested a good chunk of change on a ring gapping machine. It allows me to reduce the ring gap to the tighter spec of the range.
Hey Guys, It looks like my post took a turn for the worse? LOL
Sorry it took me so long to get back, it's been a busy summer. My daughter and I spent some time in Romania on a mission trip.
Anyway, back to the original reason I started this thread. I wound up installing a set of T-Man Syage II Heads, milled down .60 for a final compression ratio of 9.8:1 and a bigger throttle body 50mm. While it was down we went ahead and put in new rings (No comment on Hand Matched Rings) LOL. The last dyno produced 102 hp and 100 ft lbs of torque. The shop thought I was running straight pipes and said the torque would come up wtih the baffles installed. I told them that I had the Original Thunder Monster Baffles installed and questioned if I should install the factory baffles from Vance & Hines. Any ideas on the baffles or anything else? Please don't tell me to change the pipes. I know I'm leaving some on the table but I really like the look and sound of these pipes. Just looking to get what I have dialed in. Thanks for your help.

Seriously tho. Are you happy with the seat of the pants power delivery or are you looking to be a dyno king?
You wanna make bigger dyno numers you gonna hafta lose that pipe. You cant really tell 100HP from 110HP so if youre happy leave it be.
Thats funny reading through this thread. That coksuckah Gunnie ended up ripping off a fellow member for $500 cash money. I knew he was a Piece of Chit.
BTW...To make that 100HP you have? They most certainly handmatched your rings!
Post the dyno sheet.

Do I miss the crackling angry sound of the drag pipes?
Not really.
Plus the pipe I choose is an official "Noisemaker" over "Absolute Power" edition so I'm all good!!
