you can get a chrome on from MOCO for less than 500 dollars, if you order it from one of the places that gives 20% off. that about as cheap as getting one that has been chromed, since you do not have one to exchange. Before I order from MOCO, I would make sure the center is smooth. They made one that was chrome textured in the middle. 41260-08
16" Rear
Fits '03-'07 FLST, FLSTN, FLSTC, '03-'06 FLSTF (except FLSTFSE2), and '03-'05 FXST, FXSTB and FXSTS models. Requires separate purchase of model-specific Wheel Installation Kit.
yes it is, I have not seen a chrome one go very cheap on ebay for and 03-06 model. plus once you change the wheel you will want to change the sprocket and rotor. I just ordered the HD nine spoke wheels with rotors and chrome sprocket for mine front and rear. had to save up "popcorn money" for the last 6 months. came out to about 1400 total. I still have to give about 50 more to get the tires changed out.
once you get the wheel add another $70 for the install kit and $30 for new bolts. the bolts have to be replaced, they are one time use only. then the 25 for the tire change, if you pull it off and take it in.
The stock Fatboy rim is not your only option. If you wanted to stay near stock, consider the deuce rear wheel. It is a 150 but fits with a belt and drive sprocket change I believe. Then there are custom stock wheels like Rowe Machine produces.
If stock isn't an issue, the take a look at the catalogs. Lots of chrome and polished solid or near solid wheels out there. Buyer beware though... a solid wheel is not cheap compared to a spoke.
