Default Lowering 2006 Nightrain

Hi All

Wondering if any has had any issues with the molded plastic license plate holder interfering when lowering the ride height by 1 1/2" to 2". I have the Progressive Suspension Lowering kit at this time but have not installed it as of yet. I'm wondering if some modification of the molded plastic and a vertical side plate holder may be inorder.

Appreciate any feedback or experiences from anybody who has attempted this.

Thanks all

I have to ask. Don't you sacrifice some degree of ride when you lower a bike?

I have a 06 train and have lowered one inch with side plate lisc install and no problems on mine. As far as ride quality, i didnt feel the bike at stock height but the ride quality is still very comfortable even with 2 up.

Thats what I have on mine and I have it slamed to the stops no problems w/ the plate and as for ride quality I say thas the price you pay for being the coolest SOB in town. If it's ride quality they want tell them to buy a Goldwing not a Harley

What ever floats your boat, I guess. I enjoy the "ride", and not the "park and stare"....
That's why I bought a Harley, and not a Gold Wing.....
Personally, you are only looking "cool" when the bike is parked. How cool is up for debate..
On the road, it will look like you weigh 500 lbs because the rear will be sagging..

Don't you guys think the 200mm is too big to be lowered anyway?
It looks good right where it's at IMHO...

My bike is normally lowered (slammed). But for places like deals gap and such I usually raise it back up again. Nothing like the sound of floorboards on pavement to wake you up. Better than coffee even!

I lowered my "06" Night Train 2 inches and I think it corners better but a little stiff in the tail end. Not everything in life has to be comfortable. And it looks damn cool sitting or going down the rode.....

This bike doesn't sit for long only in the parking lot at work from 7 to 3:30. 90 miles from the house 5 days a week. As far as sitting and staring thats what most people like your self would feel like your doing when a 130hp 114CID bike passes you on the highway.
