Default Never rode in the rain?????

I've been looking for another bike and figured I'd save a few bucks by picking up a garage queen (street glide) from someone.

While searching online I keep seeing all these owners that state "never rode in the rain"? What the heck?

I wonder why they bought the darn thing in the first place? For spring and fall mid morning rides to the corner store? If it's not too sunny, or cloudy, or hot, or cold, or raining, or windy or if nobodi is outside to see how much of acool biker dude they are!!!

Geez........ Buy it, ride it till the wheels fall off and then get another!

Some people think that actually matters. You might as well say never have washed with water in my opinion. No biggee.

Rain = Rust on harleys if the bike isnt quickly attended to afterwards. I personally do not like rust on my bike.

Mine is my daily driver/rider. If its actively raining I get in my truck and go. I have no windshield and dont feel any tougher or "Bikerish" when I pull out into the wetness.

If it looks like it may rain I typically ride the bike.

If I get caught in rain when I get home I generally spray the bike with streak free soap hose the bike off and dry it with my blower. Takes all of 10 minutes and i have nary a rusted spoke, bolt head or brake rotor.

But I'm a wierdo anyways!!

If I had a bike that looked cool to me when it was dirty? (Any Old Evo Bagger, any Shovel, or maybe a older Heritage?)...I would make a point of riding in the rain.

My bike doesent look good dirty to me. And since I had to shell out the coin on the Bitch? Its all about......ME!!

I have seen bikes on craigslist claim that the bike was never even washed with water. I'm the same as Chaz as far as if it's actually coming down I'll drive but if it's just cloudy or we have a chance of rain I'll ride. I have a windshield but I take it off if it looks like rain because it's too tall and I won't be able to see with it on.

My experience is that people who make posts about what other people's riding habits are....tend to be MUCH bigger posers than someone advertising a bike that wasn't ridden in the rain.

Never seen rain is just a selling point, sounds like the bike is in top shape, no rust blah blah blah. I ride to work everyday in the summer, don't ride in the rain, not because I scare to ride in the rain, cleaning the bike after the rain is a nightmare.

Thanks Hammer, you've outed me......How will I ever cope?

I'm not an avid fan of riding in a rain storm either and I too try to take proper care of my ride. I just don't get the whole no rain thing.

It rained the day I bought my bike. Rode it home that day too. How could I not. Kinda like rain on your wedding day.

I ride in the rain all the time. I usually wash the bike once a week. No rust, and I don't clean it after the rain. I don't like to start off in rain, but if they are calling for showers I go. If I am out of state and going somewhere and it is raining, I go.
