Looks like you had the Memphis Shades windshield. Probably a good windshield, but not a batwing. I've tried a windshield and a batwing. Trust me, the batwing rules. Sell the others and buy the Memphis Shades batwing, also the lowers, and the 9" windshield for the batwing. That did it for me, after trying the 7". I'm 6-2, standard seat, 2000 Fatboy, the top of the windshield just below nose level. No buffeting, wind is deflected over my helmet. Not sure exactly what you have, but the trigger lock mounting hardware for the plain windshield should work with the batwing. Good price at http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/ . Good luck...hope you work it out.
I know I answered before but I used a HD Low Profile W/S (17 in high from the headlamp cutout) for a couple of years with no problems, speeds to 90 mph regularly. I also have almost no buffeting with the MS sport shield unti lI get over 65 -70 and the Fairing is fine to 90+ all of these I could take off my glasses at speed to wipe my eyes ect little to no wind in the face.
Im 6"3 with a 34" inseam using a C & C saet that lowered me about 1.5 in
Do you ride with your legs against the tank ? If you dont you may be getting wind from below.
It should be pretty easy to determine where our problem is coming from above or below. I always found that I could just hold my havnd out in front of my face at speed and feel where the wind was coming from , over the shield or below You should be able to determine if you need to go up with the shield or if it is coming from below
