Default Crossbones.....the right bike for me?

After owning a Nightster 1200 for a year (and enjoying it) I'm looking for something that has the cool factor but will be a more comfortable bike for overnight weekend getaways and a bike that will be more comfortable for my wife to ride on (she's petite). I'm wondering if there are options for the buddy seat pillow? Other things to consider before making a more?

tks,
shagster

in a similar situation, from may 07 to feb 09 and over 8000 miles, i owned a 07 xl1200c. i really liked the bike, but on longer rides, it just wasnt comfortable.. the suspension was inadequate for 2 up riding, and like you, i wanted more..

so - from my many trips to the dealers, i narrowed it down to a crossbones, or street glide.. i also like the night train, and probably would have gotten one, except for the fact of the crossbones is just soo damn 'cool' imho.. and i am just not old enough for a street glide..

after a couple months and 1500 miles on the clock, i can tell you without any reservations, that i made the perfect choice.. the bike is all i hoped for and more.. and yes, there is a passenger pilllion seat available from HD the fits and looks good.. and is easily removable when you want the slick solo look..

my buddy has a silver/black nightster - and it is a nice bike for what it is, it just isnt a softail..

here is a pic of my old sportster

HD makes a passenger seat and a sissy bar as well as a set of bags that flow nicely with the lines of the XB..

The XB is the perfect bike for me....
results may vary!

I have the perfect situation: the wife has her Nightster and I have a CrossBones. When I want to rip it up, I take her Nightster out while she is working. She considers this to be a fare arrangement since I provide the maintenance and labor for upgrades.

Yes, the CrossBones can carry a passenger quite nicely. I wouldn't think the pillion is very comfortable for longer rides. Any chance of keeping the Nightster and getting a Bones? I have always thought the passenger issue is best solved by the passenger getting her own bike!

as far as seats go, anything that fits a fat boy will fit on the xbones, and they all change out in a couple of minutes.

Went from a 02 1200 to a crossbones, wife loves it. I installed a stock fatboy seat w/passenger pillion 12" (with some mods to make it work). It is a huge step up for both comfort and enjoyment. I had to cut a 6" by 5 1/2" triangle out of aluminum, drill three holes and paint it black of course and wala brand new $125 comfy seat for 2. You can also fab up some passenger footboards on the cheap and save yourself some big bucks, and give the woman big comfort.
