springer risers is this normal

I recently did research about this, and here's what I found:

Flanders mini apes are 8" at the bottom, and their original 12.5" apes measures 8.5". Here's the link: http://www.sideroadcycles.com/americ...andlebars.html

Also Khrome Werks has (even more) narrow based apes: http://www.khromewerks.com/ sorry i can't show the detailed url-address but you find them under the 'handlebar specifications' page, where you'll see that khrome Works apes are between 8" and 5" at the bottom.
