Incorrect Speedometer/Tachometer reading
About a year ago I installed the Combination Speedometer/tachometer p/n 74461-03A on my 2001 FLSTC. I was riding in MI when it starting reading higher in MPH than I was actually going as I had the GPS on board. I stopped, shut the bike off for a while and all seem to be fine. After I return home to NC, I was out riding with a friend and notice it started doing it again. When I stopped the needle did not return to 0 mph. I stopped and shut it off for a while and it appeared to start working but after a few minutes it starting acting crazy again. Anyone else expierence this problem? If so how was the problem resolved. Mine will do the same thing occasionally.When it first started doing it I had just changed out my turn signals to LED so I thought it was related to that.I put a load equalizer on and all seemed fine for quite a while,but it has started to act up again,although very rarely.I'm starting to think now that it just might be the unit itself.
