Default Wide Glide handlebars on Fatboy?

I have a Fatboy and deal with some pain in my left shoulder on long rides. I have 2" extended risers with stock bars. I would like to put on 10" apes but hope to not have to replace the cables and wiring. I heard that stock bars from a Dyna Wide Glide are essentially 10" mini apes and that they may fit fine on my Fatboy with stock cables and wiring. Can anyone please confirm this before I purchase a new set of bars?

You might have probs with the front brake line, but I think everything else will be fine. Be aware that the '06 DWGs have fatter bars, so your risers might not work with them.

If you're interested, I have a brand new set of the stock Wide Glide 10" apes. I bought them for my bike, but they weren't quite high enough for the look/feel I wanted.

You need to go to the Harley web site and look up the cables you have now. Then cross reference to the bars you want to add. I put the WG bars on my bike and the # matched for my swap. Here is the page for front brake lines... I thin you can find the rest. Hope this helps.

On the Touring Forum, several people are putting Heritage bars on their Road Kings without having to change cables. Would probably work the same on a Fatboy.

Do people think the Heritage bars are an improvement over the Road King ones? On HD's site they sell the Road King bars for the Fatboy saying they are more comfortable for longer rides but I'm wondering if the Heritage bars are even better.
