I am toying with the idea of buying a 1999 Softail Standard but I have no idea what it is worth. So softail gurus, it is in very nice condition, has the lowering shocks, two seats, Carlini drag bars, drag pipes, has 27,000 miles but runs very good. Any ideas???
If it's in very good condition, prolly about 7K. I would certainly offer 6-6.5K and see if he bites. I looked at an 02 Standard about a month ago for the wife. It had 20K miles on it and he wanted 7500.00. The condition didn't match the price, so we walked.
As Shakey said above. The 99's are trypically doing 6 grand wholly dependent on the overall condition of the bike.
I wouldnt give more than 4000 for a kinda edgy 99' that lived outside, been wiped down with dirty towell's and is scratched everywhere, molested with creepy parts that look funny and 20,000 miles I were willing to buy edge at all.
Yet I may happily do 7000.00 on an absolute creampuff thats been loved, pampered, tucked in at night in a warm cozy garage and only wiped down with micro-fiber towells and had all its routine maintenance done.
Thanks for the info guys. The bike is a one owner, owned by a friend of mine and definitely cared for. I don't know squat about softails or EVOs so if I make the deal, I am sure I will be asking lots of questions.
Well Friend or not, Business is Business and talking a Bike that is 11 years old and once you buy it's your responsibility.. Would try to get it for 5K if possible and 6K as an absolute Last offer...
