Default Sissy Bar Emblem

Have a 2009 Heritage. Would like to put another pad on the sissy bar. I ask the shop how to remove the emblem and leather aplique on the back of the bar and they said it would probably break coming off. Does anyone know how this emblem is fastened on? Great forum.

It is a sticky pad and can be removed quite easily. I took mine off and replaced it with the skull emblem (my bike theme) after polishing up the chrome medallion plate underneath. If you want to put the original back (why would you), all it would take is some thin double sided tape.

Thanks for that info. I'll put some gentle pressure on that sucker and see what happens. I like the one that's on there but I want a thinner pad. Thanks again.

You probably already either figured it out by now or busted it!! But I have 2006 Heritage and I broke one the pins holding it on. I guess I could have done some glue or something to stick it back on, but I just bought another from the dealer. Its got spring clips that you push the plastic pins into on the bar (not sure if I describe it right). Basically its a one shot or one time use item IMO. I don't think it was more than 10 bux for the new one. Mine was the same that they put on the bags.

Heat it with a hair dryer and GENTLY pry it up.
Mine is double faced tape.

Thanks. Looks like I have several options here. I'll try something. I have a pad that came off a several year old low rider that I think will look better on my bike. I rarely ride someone on the back so the bigger one is not needed. Thanks again.

I pryed it off, then pryed it off again, then pryed it off and broke it, glued it, broke it again and threw it out. I countersunk the screw hole and stick magnets on it now.
