Can hear a clicking noise from in front of the engine, especially in 3 and 4th gear. Did not hear it before I put the bike up for a couple of days. Then rode on Sunday,I could hear the noise. I did try a different gas,if that matters. Not a loud clicking, just kinda like when you get something in your tire or spoke, which I checked.
had the same thing with my 06 heritage around 4000 mile mark. The mech at the dealer sd didn't sound like anything was wrong, ran some tests and everything ck'd out, so I've just been riding away since then. About 4700 miles on it now and it went away. Kinda random, but no problem I guess at this point.
The wrench at our local Harley shop told me that the 88B counterbalanced engine makes the ticking sound. Mine does and has for the past 16,000 miles. If you get louder pipes, you won't hear the clicking.
I have the same ticking sound coming from my 2006 Heritage classic. Doesn't always happen but every now and again I can hear it. I have 600 miles on the bike so far and for the last 100 miles or so it hasn't happened. I read on another forum that the 88B engine does make a ticking sound.
