Go back and read the entire thread. This causes reversion and poor performance due to no back pressure.
So it sounds like the pipes need to be removed from the bike so that the holes can be drilled for the new baffles?
Not necessary, but you do need to remove the shields.
It MAY be necessary to loosen the pipe mounting bolts to get the shields off, however. Try just removing the radiator hose clamps that hold the shields on first.
