Seat Choices?

Hi all...I have a '03 FXST as seen in my sig. I would like to put a seat on it that has a driver back rest and also a comfortable passenger seat. I see seats (used) for sale on ebay, but am afraid of compatibility. Do all Softail seats fit all softail models or what do I have to look out for? I've seen some descriptions note the seat would fit all FX models 00-05 with the exception of FXSTD, but when I've asked them through a message if it would fit my FXST I've gotten mixed replies. So, what's the deal? I'm trying to find a seat without having to fork out $500 for a new one, so I'm at the mercy of the previous owner on ebay, meaning I'm not going to be able to return it (in most cases) if it doesn't fit.

I'm looking at something like this unless you have a better suggestion...

Go to the Harley catalogue and find what fits then stay with that part number when searching ebay. Also you can go to Mustang and Saddlemen's site and get their part numbers to search ebay. Also if you find a seat on ebay and you are not sure then Google the number and choose a retailer that carries it, they will show accurate fitment. I feel your pain I have been there done that several times. Good luck

Try C&C seats. Chuck is great to work with and customer service was the best I've had. I ordered my sport tour model seat with the backrest and he made it and delivered it in 8 Days. I just got it last Thursday and road 250 miles through the Texas Hill Country and it was great. Very comfortable and workmanship was great!!!
