Im working in Iraq, and decided a Harley was a now or never thing. I got it oked with the Ol' Lady, and started looking at the 2010 models. Ive narrowed it down to two bikes, hence the thread title. I love the old school look of the crossbones, But think I might look better on a fatboy seeing how Im 6 foot 7 360+ lbs. I know in the end the choice can only be made by me but i was hoping someone might be able to give me a fresh point of view. Ive only seen pictures of the bikes, but Im going on R&R in 20 days so I can run to the dealer then and check out the bikes in person. Any suggestions on what to look for?
Yeah if you want the old school look that is cool and all but you also want to be comfortable. For your size and what you want I'd go with the RoadKing. But IMO the FatBoy seems to be more versatile compared to the XBones...I've seen the fatboys with the Memphis Shades fairings and hard bags for long hauls and stripped down for running around with friends. The XBones is still an awesome choice and you can still tour with it but I just like how versatile the FB is.
Seriously though you should look into a RoadKing.
I've talked to the salesmen over in Iraq before and all they want is the sale...they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get that money. Makes sense though....that's their job. DO NOT COMMIT till you sit on one and are comfortable and go for a spin on it.
I would honestly be looking at a roadking. That bike is going to be way roomier than either of those. I love my Fatty but f I was your size I would be on a Roadking. But if you are set on those 2 I would steer towards the xbones with those mini apes they will be a little more comfy than the drag bars on the Lo.
Just ask yourself how much sense does it make for a guy your size to look into the lowest motorcycle HD has to offer. It has been setup for shorter then average riders. JMO.
Tis true but if theres one thing im dead set on its the color. Denim Black. And if im not mistaken the fat boy dosnt offer that color un less its the lo. And the bars would be the first thing to go, along with adding some forword controls.
