I bought new 'bullet' lights for my new Heritage and went with amber lenses. I kind of like that look and feel that it's also safer. Haven't put them on yet.
Want to run the amber spot lamps, was wondering if you like yours.I like the look.
Originally I had the clear lights. I wanted to run them day and night but I was shooting a beam in the back windows of the cars in front of me. So I thought I would get some amber lights and it turned out that I was now shooting an amber light in the back windows of the cars in front of me. So I bought some stained glass spray paint and painted my clear lights. I scuffed between coats with a scotch pad and even lightly scuffed the last coat as well (only on the Electra-Glide. Well, I ended with what I think is the perfect light. I found that I actually had cars waiting for me to pass by rather than them pulling in front of me and cutting me off. I think that there is just something about a glowing yellow light that really gets peoples attention. Remember, an amber translucent light really doesnt look yellow until you get close, but a glowing amber light can be seen as from a greater distance and onlt get brighter as you get closer. Here are a few pics. My Softail had a different lights than my Electra-Glide but they both get the same effect. I have had the Softail lights like this for about 5 years and they still look perfect. I hope this helps. HarleyGoodies
I've been using the Cee Bailey running light armor (YELLOW) on my Ultra for years, they work great. The yellow stands out more than the amber and definitley helps wake up the brain dead cagers. http://www.ceebaileys.com/harley/harleyhdg.html
