On that note, anyone else experience a new "clank" after lowering a springer in front?
I have a Springer Classic and the only time I ever got any noise coming from it was when I 1st put on my windvest. I had the windvest angled too far forward and when I'd hit a bump the small brace across the top of fork was "clicking" against the windvest mount. Otherwise my forks don't make any noise other than to say AHHHH! each time I go for a ride.
The top crown nut does not sit flush in the top tree. I noticed the same thing with my bones .. there is an angle to create less rake due to the springer .
So I went to a dealer (needed to check some prices anyway) and saw that even a stock on the floor 2010 bones looks like this as well. Looks like we are GTG.
Aside from the random clank I hear (which prob has nothing to do with the springs anyway and is just a noise), the burly kit gets a thumbs up. Ride is still as good as stock if not better, and the rear lowering shocks are great. 50 % better or more than stock I would say. Overall I am very happy!
