I especially like the fact that these so-called hardcore HD guys get pissy about it. Remember when riding a Hog meant you were an individual? Now, it's like if you don't wear the skull cap, leather vest, jeans, and Docs then you "ain't a real biker".
I went down a couple of months ago and landed face first. Helmet (open front with half visor) took most of the beating. I ended up with a bloody nose and a sprained ankle, but it would have been much worse without the helmet. A full face would have been even better!
A buddy of mine slid across a back road on a curve covered with moss not going to fast just lost it endoed in a irragation ditch with a half shell dot approved . His face was in bad shape with scrapes black eye .brokin wrest .broken ankle . Pins stickin out from both .ah he'll be ok just goin to take some time .the bike will be fix before he is .the helmet did help in this case.
Full face Arai Helmet everywhere i go, always. see too many head bounce of the Freeways at work over the years. never met one crash victim after a crash to tell me his side of the story who wasnt wearing one. made an impression on me.
never had a lid law here, but went and got a biltwell for the colder months, and god damn its comfy and no wind noise, i might wear the fuxer all the time cuz it looks cool too
i wear a helmet when i ride. i dont like to. i dont legally have to. but, i have 5 children, and it is probably a good idea to maybe increase my odds of survival in a crash. i have been down before. i didnt hit my head and i wasnt wearing a helmet.
i hate riding with the windshield on if its warm. and wearing a helmet is such a pain in the neck without the windshield. so i am allways on the search for a lighter, smaller (but safer) helmet. i currently wear a 3/4 hjc. and it is huge and heavy. i might have to try the fulmer. i would also like to try the simpson bandit series of ff helmets.
