I got a 2006 night train with stock rimss and tires.
My question is , what is the widest tire that I can fit without changing the entire front end. I know I might need to buy a new wheel but thats ok. Im in Afghanistan so I cant go shop around like I would like.
With your stock front end you can fit a 21 x 3.25" or 21 x 3.5" wheel with a 120/70-21 front tire. You will have to get a new fender though to accept that new wheel/tire. If you don' want to change your fender you are limited with the stock 21 x 2.15" and 90/90-21 tire.
My sources tell me on an '06 Night Train the max wheel/tire combo without modification is a 21x3.5 with a 120/70-21 tire. I'd use a shout out and call your perfered wheel/tire company direct for any fitment issues when you're trying to max something out.
Im thinking about getting new wheels and fender, just dont want to change the forks if I dont need to. I like some like the front tire of a cross bones
how about changing the rear wheel? i have an 05 night train with the 150 rear tire and 16" solid wheel, i want to change to a 18" spoked, any one know what size tire i could run with out making any or little changes?
If you are buying new wheels you can run any front wheel size you want if you change fenders to match. You may have to change spacers also. There are aluminum fender adapters for fenders that don't match your forks or you can buy a custom undrilled fender and drill it to fit your application.
