I went D&D after my V&H big shots just got to be too loud.
I did not do a dyno before and after but they probably help as I have been told by mechancis for ovver all performance.
However- I have been looking at rinehart cross backs......
Note: If you use the Sacavenger oil change system, ( which I think is great and I did ) the Fatcat pipe does not give you enough clearance to remove the oil ine from the oil tank to use the system :-( ( not good as a regual oil change in your harley will leave 24-30 oz of DIRTY OIL in your oil system). So, looking at the cross backs as the rear pipe appears to tuck in close to the rear jug like the V&H pipes I had to make the scavenger work.

So very true...I am pricing out some braided oil lines to see if that rectifies the problem.
I was able to take the oil line out but I ended up having to take my pipes off to get it back on. I have a scratch on the oil tank where the line binded on the oil tank..Lesson learned the hard way. I put a V&Hines Comp. pipe on so I could utilize my scavenger and I noticed a power loss in the mid range. I'm leavin this pipe on until I find oil lines for a decent price. I want to run the Fatcat again but I think the scavenger is more important to run wiith this fresh engine build than my pipe....
Dr.Vtwin where are you going to find me some lines? I talked to magnum shielding but they didn't get back to me...

i know it ain't the thread's subject, but this could be help many of us...check out this oil scavenger product:
I have one and love it. Less noise at idle for early morning start ups but when yu twist the throttle ITS ALIVE. Seat of the pants feel was more horsepower. Gettn it dyno'd in a month
i installed my fatcat 3 years ago. same time as cam install. never ran a dyno. VERY nice set-up. as said before, reasonabley quiet in the wee hours, but grab a handfull, opens up real nice. im running the standard baffle. never have scraped the pipe or muffler. current set-up....95" w/10.25/1 pistons, andrews 37 cams, heads by bigboyz (polish, port, comp. releases), cane adj. ign., heavily tweeked cv. via ness sucker, all ballz starter. and the d&d fatcat. steve

While I am an advocate of getting all the old oil out of my system, there is no way in hell that would take precedence over a pipe choice. Gotta keep them priorities straight man.
The are other ways to get the oil out. To go without your favorite choice of pipes over something like that,....... just ain't right man.

Until I get my bike broke in I would rather get all, if any crap out...Tell me all the other ways of getting the crap that's suspended in oil out of your engine without removing the discharge oil line..
My engine which is in the early stages of beak in, is definitely more important to me than the sound of my pipe choice! I'm puttin my Fatcat back on once I'm broke in and only if I can continue to use my scavenger. I see the value in it everytime I use it..I found someone here that makes braided oil lines and for now I think that is the solution.
