Thinking about getting true duals with/out fishtails (not sure yet) looking for input on best look, sound and price.

Rush Slip-ons best bang for the buck, it will keep the look of your true duals. www.epiflex.com is the web site, they have sound bites of the exhaust.

thanks for the tip. I am having a difficult time finding pics of these in a duall configuration. Also, I'm not to educated on the pros and cons of slipons vs all new pipes. Feel free to educate me.

Vance and Hines all the way. Looks, performance, quality and customer service. Also check out youtube for some sound bytes.

Everyone has their own opinion on which are best. You gotta made your own decision on which ones you like. Samson, Vance and Hines, Bassani, or whatever else may be out there. I personally like the Bassani's because they have a little step up after the tranny which keeps the pipes a little higher.

The other option is to stick with your stock head pipes and just do slip ons. You can probably get just about the same sound out of slip ons. One thing to remember, if you go with slip ons on your stock pipes, you will want to have a smaller baffle on the left side than the right (I think I have that right) because the right side gets all of the front calendar and half the rear. The left side just gets half the rear. Rush says on their website to use one size smaller on one side than the other if using on the stock head pipes. You can also use Screamin Eagle slip ons.

Slip-ons are cheaper...initially and to set-up. Slip-ons require nothing outside of bolting them in place. With a full exhaust set-up that you would get from Vance & Hines, or Rinehart, etc. it would be strongly recommended that you tune your bike afterwards, as it will be running very lean afterward if you did not. For optimal performance, you will want to tune your bike. And, if you're going to do that, you might as well get a high-performance air cleaner while you're at it.

Anyway, if cost is of any concern, go with slip-ons, or just change the baffles out. Big City Thunder makes some great baffles that will completely change the sound of your bike, without messing with the stock settings. And, if you like your current pipes, these are the ultimate fix.
