Also, I went to the dealer today to browse around and they had a 2013 Candy Orange Lo sitting in the show room. Im now going to have to spend money on changing out the tank and fenders. Damn more money to spend.
Hey Dave, I just picked up a 2012 low and am seriously thinking about the forward controls thing.. I know how I ride and I know I am going to be scapping the heck out of the boards. I have noticed that a lot of folks are saying the dealer won't do it or says they the controls are not an option for it. Where should I go to get them and who will install them for me? I live in Orlando.. know of any place? Also - love the slammer handlebars.. I was really torn between a fatbob and low because of the lean angle but wanted the bigger bike and loved the way it looked. any advise you can give me would be awesome.
I am thinking about forward controls also. Performance Machine makes some nice black ones. I went into a turn today and hit the floorboard bracket which forced the bike upright. I ended up going off the road onto the dirt shoulder and through a bunch of weeds. Luckily I had enough room to bleed off the speed without having to touch the brakes in the soft dirt. I have scrapped the brackets before, but never had the bike stand up like that. I think the boards might have to go...
That's kind of scary Rednose. Is your bike stock height? As much as I like floorboards I think I might look into Fatboy height suspension before I would get rid of the floorboards. How much more clearance would you gain from pegs?

Yeah, stock height. I have forward controls on my FX softail, and have never scraped the pegs (the bike is also lowered 2 1/2"). I would think the clearance on the Lo would be similar. The boards are comfortable, but I scrape the crap out of them.
