I got the left side of my engine cleaned up now. No more horn or coil to look at. Next up for my Lo is LED headlamp and some powdercoat. Anybody know which powdercoat will match denim black paint the best. I think I read that Dupont makes a color that matches. Can anyone confirm this.
i think i've read somewhere in this thread that there's either a paint or a plasti-dip or something that matches, i think Krylon makes something.. But now that denim is becoming more popular i've read in places that if you take a flat black paint, then hit it with a flat clear coat, it creates the same color.. if you've got a spare piece of metal laying around and want to experiment or something

I've never used it but a lot of people on here have said something about DuPont black magic powdercoat. Could probably search that and see what you find.

Yep. John Deere Blitz black and the Harley Satin Denim clear is about a perfect match. The JD paint is heavy duty and the HD denim clear gives it the same sheen as the factory. The key is sanding very smooth so the paint lays down right.
Hello to all my Fatboy Lo family, just wanted to formally introduce myself and my bike to this thread. Heres my 2013 Lo. Heres a few pics of when I brought it home and the mods I have done so far. I plan on giving it a "SoCal" or "Cali" look to it. I dont plan on doing Samson Cholos or anything like that, maybe I dont know, or some long shots or nice 2 into 1 pipe. But I see so many chromed out Deluxes, Heritages and Fattys around here, which are awesome but it would be cool to see a darker version of those bikes, done right of course. The last couple of pics is the way it sits right now at the shop, getting Carlini Gangster 14 inch apes, blacking the engine and front end along with a freight train nacelle.
Future mods: 21/18 Fat Spoke wheels(all black), deluxe or wraparound front fender, Platinum or Shotgun shock, cycle smith or PM floorboards, maybe AUX light bar.
It's a C&C solo. I am local and I took the idea of the design to them, came out great. The only problem is I am contemplating doing a heartland kit, so that will mean I cant use that seat, so I might go back to them and see if the can custom make me one.
A few updated pics. The throttle and idle cables that I ordered through the Harley dealership were too short, so I had to order new ones. Word to the wise if you are doing Carlini 1.5 bars they are taller than advertised.
On those two cables I had to go +8 instead of the +6 the dealer ordered. BTW they would not take them back because they were mocked up already, BS if you ask me. If I would of known I would of ordered all of them through the shop doing the work. So if you do Carlini 14 inch apes 1.5 dia, go +8. Here are a few pics.
Hello and Happy 2013.
I was checking this forum from time to time, and found it quite inspiring. So now that I just registered, I wanted to say hi and introduce myself...
Cheers!
Welcome to the family. I can't really imagine battling thru NY traffic all day, and I hope you find some open roads to enjoy your new bike.
Very cool. After adding my apes I have been thinking of moving the turn signals as my next project. Wish I had thought of it before, but this would be a great option. Do they come in black or matte?
