Default Heritage bars on the Deluxe

My hubby bought me a set of Heritage bars, but we have not tried to install them yet. By looking at what the setup would be,, it seems like we should use the 2 inch risers instead of the 4 inch that are stock on the Deluxe. Has anyone here installed Heritage bars and used the original risers? If anyone has pics of Heritage bars on their Deluxe please post, or if you know of another bar I could use that would give me some additional pull back let me know.. thanks

If you want maximum pullback get Wild 1 apes in whatever height you are comfortable with. they have 12.5" of pullback and you can rotate them in the riser clamp for perfection. I don't know what the pullback is on the Heritage bars.

The Heritage bars aren't too radical and should work with the four inch risers. I'd do that first and you can always lower them to two inch with no cable or wire changes later if you want too. I think you'll like the Heritage bars.

if I'm not mistaken....isn't the deluxe risers 4" pullback risers? I don't think that will look right. I would go with the 2" (which is really 1.5") risers.

And what heritage bars? The pre 09' or the 09-10' bars?

The "Old style Heritage bars" from 1986 to 2007 is as follows
Comfortable, reaches farther back, but off line with fork angle.
Looks kinda strange, odd wrist angle.
Tip to Tip 31.25 inches
Pull 5.00 inches
Rise 8.50 inches

The 09-10 bars 56569-09 (which I just installed on my heritage) are
Tip to Tip 32.6 inches
Pull 7.21 inches
Rise 10.3 inches

Comfortable for shorter folks, or those with longer arms
Used stock cables/ wiring (for heritage)
Strange downward wrist angle, pain in shoulder blades/wrists.
Have to reach forward and down.

I have this setup. I can tell you, it was not what I was expecting. After changing out the bars, I really felt the risers were too high (yes, they are 4") and I was disappointed. I spent a couple weeks looking around and thinking about dropping to 2". I even considered buying different bars.

Do yourself a favor, install them on the stock risers. Ride it a couple of weeks... I now love it. It took 1000 miles or so, but I am sticking with the stock risers (and they are easy enough to swap out later if you decide you need lower ones - just keep in mind the Deluxe has a different bolt pattern than most of the HD risers so you would probably need a new plate too). The bike has eons more countersteer on the curves. It did take some time to get the feel of sharp corner turns (aka slow turns at lights and corners), as compared to the stock Deluxe bars your arms are higher and you are in a different turn/reach position and I didn't like that much at first, but the improved highway handling outweighs the small change on turns by miles.

PM me if you have more questions or want more info, or pics, etc.

I was thinking that the 4" pullback risers that are stock on deluxe (correct me it they are straight) which curve back would not look right.

But anyways, I just put another 200 miles on with the 09-10 heritage bars and am not happy. I get shoulder blade pain right in the middle of my shoulder blades and back of neck. The old style heritage bars didn't do this. I may just put them back on to get through the summer and go with the wild1 12.5 apes.

I've been chatting with lionsqrne and he loves his and gets no pain or discomfort. I bet I put these on before the summer is over.
