When does your gas warning light go on?

I just bought a 2007 Fatboy and have put about 2000 miles on it. The gas light has come on three times and each time I've only been able to put 3.5 gallons in. Doesn't the Fatboy have a 5 gallon tank?

I'd be interested to know how much gas you can put in when the warning light comes on.

Yes, it has a 5 gallon tank. That's about when mine comes on also, I just watch the odometer to tell when I need to stop for more gas.

Mine comes on with about .8 gal left. Thats at 200 miles of backroad driving. I usually refill at 180.

Never,when at a half tank next stop filling station.Years ago ran out out of gas a couple of times,once on a deserted road had to walk for miles.Back before cell phones,then used to ride everywhere never knowing where we would end up.
