Default Saddlebag strap issue on Heritage

I've had this problem for a while with the saddlebag straps on my 07 heritage pulling out of the bottom loop at speed and flapping around. It's like the bottom clip was riveted too low on the bag. I tried putting the pin through the top hole to lengthen the strap a little but it still won't stay in the bottom loop. Maybe it has something to do with the no more saggy bags kit I used to keep the bags their shape. Any of you " Maguivers " out there got any ideas?

Thanks.....Mike

Pre'09' Heritage's have a strap that's just a little too short causing this problem. When Boss Bags does the stiffener kit they will put longer/thicker straps on them. My brother's '06' has been done and is problem free now. I have an '09' and Harley is now making the strap a little longer too. If you're not going to do the stiffener kit I'd think there would be something that could be done. Snaps, valcro, etc. Shouldn't be a hard fix. You don't have an abnormal problem though. Hope this helps.

I read in a post somewhere that the rider put a stud into the bottom of the strap and that provided enough weight. thickness to keep the strap in

You may get by with a Chicago screw that you should be able to score at your local hardware store..I use them to put belt buckles on belts that I make..looks like this.http://www.boundtoimpress.com.au/sho...cago-screw.jpg

The Chicago Screw sound's like a good idea but it would be a pain when using the bags a lot. I'd try the weight idea or some kind of clip that would keep them in. I really don't think it will be a big issue.

Not trying to be a smart azz , but you should have gone with the boss bag system. I had the got saggy bags system and it was not nearly as good as the boss bags , you can still have boss bags put the longer and thicker straps on your bags though .

I used a chrome flathead screw and acorn nut at the bottom of the strap. Works great and blends in with the chrome studs. Looks like it came this way.
