and here i am tryn out different battery packs for my iphone....ill be getn on this asap
Yeah, and Harley now has a new leather tank bib with a pouch big enough to store an iPhone (91135-09 for $99) but the pouch is not removable. I thought they also came out with a magnetic iPhone holder that sticks to your tank and has a touch-through plastic screen, but all I can find is a magnetic storage pouch (93300012).
Works great (I've got a Fatboy). I don't leave it plugged in - only use it when I need it. I already had a Battery Tender cable (mostly doing nothing, since I ride year round).
I have this device from zootfresh.com as well. Great USB connector. It works well, but I have only used it during a lunch stop. I notived that the unit itself got rather hot after about 15 minutes. Not sure if this was because of its proximity to the heads or not???
I wanted to run a cable to the handle bars, but decided against that. I am going to review all previous posting to see how I can connect to that unknown little free plug that is dancing around under my air cleaner. That would be the perfect connection since it is very close to my iPhone mount and I wouldn't have to cross to the other side of the bike.
With a $14.00 app from iTunes (CoPilot), I have perfect navigation with turn by turn, and of course my bluetooth SENA headset.
I was hoping to connect my iPhone to some extra wiring I found behind my air cleaner, but I have been told that is extra that is specifically used for California EPA issues and not a power supply. Oh well.
So thanks for the previous posts I just order this project http://www.powerlet.com/product/appl...ry-harness/421
I was helped by David on the phone and I will let you guys know how is works out.
Thanks again everyone
I got a cigarette lighter type of connector. The other end goes into the battery tender outlet. That way I can charge anything I have that has a car charger.
