Default Cable lengths for ape install

I'm ordering the parts for my 12" Fat mini-ape install.

I'm told I need +6 cables.

So I'm lookin for anyone that knows the stock cable lengths for a
2009 Fat Boy

OR

If anyone has put HD 12" Fat mini-apes on a fat boy, can you tell me
what cable lengths you ordered?

Unless someone's done the same install I think the safest way is to measure them off your old cables. Take old controls off and put new bars on. Hold controls up and measure extra needed. Make sure you measure with wheels turned full lock left and right. You want to have enough cable but not too much that your bike looks like an octupus.

Only took me a few days to get the new cables. All the measurements were right on the money. And they weren't all the same either as in your +6 advice.

Actually my measurements were pretty close +or 1inch to the rule of thumb I read somewhere which was: add the additional rise of your new bars plus 1/2 of the additional pb.

Taking the bike apart before ordering the cables leaves my bike out of commission for far too long. Might be a good plan if it was winter, but not now

I'm holding out for someone that has done the same install.

There must be someone who knows the exact length. Too bad you are not doing 18"'s as I know that Mimo has those lengths.

Stock cable lengths for an '09 Fatboy;
Clutch - 64 11/16"
Throttle/Idle - 30 3/4"
Brake - 45"

For Chubby's 12.5 inch apes on stock risers, I went +6" (Clutch - 70", Throttle/Idle cables - 36" , and 50" for the brake line), and everything worked out fine.

Cable lengths quoted above are from http://www.magnumshielding.com/store...2009&x=66&y=16
