Default She's in the driveway
Well, my Peace Officer Addition Heritage arrived Thursday and I picked her up today. Beautiful scoot. Black with blue pin stripes. During the 25 mile ride home, I listened carefully for the "noisy" six speed everybody is complaining about. Mine is very quiet. Fifth gear which is about as noisy as my Sporty is in all gears (with a windshield). Much better than I was expecting after reading some of the complaints in the forum. Shifting gears is more precise than the five speeds, leaving no quess work. The clutch is too easy and will take some getting used to compared to the "old" Harleys. I still get some buffeting from the windshield. Not nearly as bad as the Dynas or Sportsters with windshields, but it's still there like all HDs including the UC. The 96 is a big improvement over the 88, but no comparison to a post 04" staged 1200 Sporty but then again I didn't buy it for that. Something has changed in the steering. I purposly hit every tar snake I could and could barely feel them. HD must have changed something over the 06's. I felt little or no vibration at any speed on the way home, but I never went over 65. The driver's seat is a dream and different than last years. I believe I like the 06' passenger seat better.
