There are a couple small guides under the gas tank for the throttle and idle cables. I assume they keep the cables from
dropping onto the rocker cover and melting.
I cant figure out how to get the new cables through those guides. I dont want to remove the gas tank
and most folks seem to think this job can be done just by sliding the tank back.
I'v been making some real progress but now I'm stymied by something so stupid...
It would have been easier just to remove the tank....
Are the old cables already out?
You can tape the new to the old and pull them through..
Actually once I poked at it for a bit it became very obvious that this was no real problem. I feel silly for even asking in the first place. It was late and I was tired
Nearly done now. Just have to put on the clutch cable and brake line and its ready to ride.
