I've been a long distance [60 miles plus] dirt bike trail rider going back to the 1960's.
I've seen more trails over the years get shut down because of loud exhaust on dirt bikes and atv's.
If you don't want the same on the streets, just keep up making all kinds of noise with open exhaust, you'll ruin it for everyone and nobody will be able to enjoy motorcycling.
Bobby.
They have no driving and using cell phones and texting while driving laws here in New Hampshire, New York, Mass. etc., and it doesn't get inforced.
In fact, they said on tonight local news on tv, that accidents have increased since these new laws have been put in place, as now these idiots are still texting and such, but are doing so with their phones lower so Cops can't see them doing this, and it's even more of a distraction.
The only way I can see of fixing this cell phone/texting abuse is to somehow have the cell phone become disablied when a car/truck is in gear.

I have a 1990 Chevy Silverado Sportside that is Pro-Streeted, and a 800hp. 6-71 blown 383ci Chevy powered 1923 Ford Model-T, and I can't run straight pipes with no mufflers, but I see Harley's all over with straight pipes and no mufflers all the time.
Who's being discriminated here ?
My Grandfather who rode cross Country, raced board tracks and hill climbs back in the twenties always told me that you can get away with more if it's quiet.
It is the few bad ones that make it bad for everyone else.
It's always been this way.
We need to self police ourselves to stop more laws from becoming laws.

They have hands free/voice activated/bluetooth stupid looking earphone chit now so theres no excuse for driving like that dame ...
Ya that will happen, every one will just start to police themselves. If you havent noticed People love making laws and taking away the Freedoms that they dont particularly care about, and then others take theres, its a big circle, Look some Biker thats angry about a pipe law just said they should make cell phones deactivate when a car is in gear, Thats people for you, every one wants to outlaw what they dont like, SO me I will enjoy every thing i can while its still legal, and hopefully find ways too when its not, cuz Americans are making Americans not free.
They are 90 dbs today because they can be. You watch, i'm sure there will be several "performance exhausts" in the 80 dbs range as a response to this bill. Somewhat like gas mileage, the government says we want a minimum of xx MPG and amazingly enough cars are now coming out with that MPG. Any pipe manufacture that does not already have something in the R/D section close to production on this is behind the 8-ball.
Come on Norm since the inception of SMOG on cars in the early 70's fuel economy has decreased not increased. we burn more fuel with the same or less emissions per gallon I agree what about all the pollution that is caused to manufacture all of this necessary equipment to put on our cars. Yes technology will continue to improve performance no matter what happens, Non of this is for the better of you and I. the single most pollution causing problem on any car is the tires. Did you ever stop to think about where all that rubber goes that wears off your tires but we have done nothing about that, Hmmm just maybe because they are Oil based just a thought.
