Default Service Warranty's??

I just bought an 08 Heritage Classic and it is 6 months out of HD warranty with 6k miles. Is there a reparable Company to deal with?

Not sure if this will help but my wife before we go married bought a used car and also bought a warranty to go with it. I believe it was through a company called Guardian. They were pretty easy to work with when she needed the transmission replaced. Not sure if they deal with bikes though.

Word of the wise if you can put together a furniture set from IKEA which comes with instructions and tools you can work on your machine as well... GET A SERVICE MANUAL. warranties and extended warranties never gets used and you would lose all that money on nothing. Get a manual and start slow with oil changes a couple times before you hit your 10,000K mark. Do your 10K service per the manual and you would be in much better shape. You you not only save money but also will get to know your bike.. put the money down in quality tools and service manual.. just my 2 cents.

I'm with the no extended warr. crew! If I had all the money I would have spent on them and I would have enough to buy a new bike! They are a rip off many times. I tell the sales guys I keep the money in my own bank and fix/pay of it myself! Then there is the service thru HD - not consistant and sometimes suspect workmanship...My brother and I recently bought new HDs due the good buying opportunities out there. This is not a huge deal, BUT does it indicate HDs true attitude towards there customer base??? My brother and my new bikes went into the dealer for the REQUIRED 1000 mile checkup, after $350.00 bucks, we soon after put some top of the line spark plugs in the bikes, when we took out the old plugs on both bikes, NONE of them were gapped ANYWHERE NEAR where they should have been and all gapped diff.!! This is from the "state of the art factory" and after the "required, $350.00, PROFESSIONAL service gouging to INSURE your NEW motorcycle is setup and running properly!!! This shows me they couldn't care less!!! Like some others said, I'll fix it myself! Ride safe!

To answer your original question, I second the recommendation to check with a dealer. Generally speaking a dealership is not going to do business with, or send their customers to, someplace that isn't legit. Did you buy your bike from a dealership? If so, that would be my first stop.

A quick Google search brought up this: http://www.extendedwarrantiesforharl....com/index.php
So there are places out there that you can research.

Having said all that, I also agree with those who suggest you could DIY most problems you run into. That of course assumes you are interested in doing the work yourself and that you have the tools and mechanical ability necessary; which honestly isn't that much.

Having owned four Harley's thus far and several other motorcycles of various flavors I am now very confident that I do not need anything more than the factory warranty. If "it" doesn't break inside of factory warranty period period, it's going to last a while; at least as long as a manual or service interval would suggest. Ownership trains you to expect things to need service at approximate time periods. So generally speaking, nothing usually blindsides you and leaves you holding an empty wallet.

I have took the advise of many on this forum and bought a service manual. I had the dealership do my 1k service. I will be doing all my future services.
